Legacy Story

A Foundation Built on Perseverance

My journey to founding Trusted Advisors Consulting Group is one of resilience, service, and an unwavering commitment to helping healthcare organizations drive impact where it’s needed most. It is a story shaped by hard work, bold choices, and a deep belief in the power of community and mission-driven care.

From a young age, I learned the value of perseverance. Raised by my grandparents outside Buffalo, NY, I struggled academically and was told by my high school counselor that my future lay at the local pizza shop. But with the help of the Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP) at Alfred University, I earned a dual degree and, more importantly, discovered my passion for healthcare. I worked my way through every challenge—holding down jobs since age 14, giving back to the HEOP by helping students succeed as a resident assistant, and proving that a disadvantaged background could fuel extraordinary outcomes.

My career began with heart—and heartbreak—at the Veterans Administration, where I worked with terminally ill veterans and their caregivers. It was there that I learned the importance of compassion, service, and solving real-world problems that make a difference in people’s lives. I will never forget Mr. P., a veteran whose greatest fear was for his wife’s well-being after his passing. Helping him secure air conditioning and a ramp for their home taught me that healthcare is about humanity as much as it is about outcomes.

A Career Fordged Through Real-World Experience

When I joined Hudson Headwaters Health Network (HHHN), I once again said ‘yes’ to an opportunity that stretched me beyond my experience. I built programs that served entire communities—creating a diabetes management program, launching a 340B Pharmacy initiative, and securing grants to expand services to eight counties. I became the Network Safety Officer, led emergency management initiatives, and ultimately managed over 125 staff as Director of Administrative Services. My success was never about titles—it was about people. I listened to the clinicians, the patients, and the teams. I learned the operations from the inside out. I led with trust, mission and heart.

At athenahealth, I was entrusted to do my ‘FQHC thing,’ leading and growing the customer success team dedicated to FQHCs, FQHC Look-Alikes, and Indian Health Service grantee organizations. Under my leadership, we expanded the customer base from under 40 to over 235 organizations, generating $150M+ in annual revenue by 2023. But the numbers were never my north star—the people were. I taught my team to meet customers where they are, to listen, and to solve problems with empathy and insight. Despite parting ways with athenahealth, my legacy remains in every relationship built and every outcome delivered.

Beyond my leadership roles, I gained invaluable insight as a federal grant reviewer for Bureau of Primary Care including divisions like HRSA divisions including Health Center Program, Maternal Child Health, the Office of Rural Health, Telehealth and National Institutes of Health. Reviewing programs serving the underserved, rural, urban, homeless, migrants, and uninsured opened my eyes to the breadth of need and the depth of impact that FQHCs and safety-net providers bring to their communities. It further fueled my passion for supporting organizations that advance high-quality healthcare, access, equity and affordability.

Honoring my Grandfather’s Legacy Through Trusted Advisors Consulting Group

But perhaps the most profound part of my story is how it all began—with my grandfather, my ‘Angel Investor.’ A Polish immigrant with only an eighth-grade education, he taught me the meaning of hard work and sacrifice. Though we faced tough times and humble beginnings, he managed to set aside a small inheritance to help his family. It was through his generosity that I was able to start Trusted Advisors Consulting Group. His legacy lives in every client I help, every challenge I solve, and every community I serve.

Today, my legacy is about more than my story—it is about yours–ours. It is about every healthcare leader striving to improve outcomes for their patients. It is about every organization navigating change to better serve their communities. It is about the technology partners working to meet the real needs of providers and communities.

At Trusted Advisors Consulting Group, I bring more than experience. I bring a lifetime of lessons forged from resilience, service, and heart. Together, we will solve challenges, create impact, and build a legacy that matters.
